Germany and Austria

Tyrol and Bavaria: Discovering the Alps

This tour gives you the opportunity of discovering the most interesting regions of Austria and Germany for their traditions, the beauty of their landscapes and their rich gastronomy.

Discover Bavaria through Ludwig II, a king whose biggest dream was to recreate the excessive splendor of the court of the french king Louis the XIV. He succeeded, on a smaller scale, in the beautiful castle of Herrenchiemsee which you will visit. You will also get to visit Neuschwanstein, his other castle which inspired Walt Disney's fairytale castle. You will get to walk around the picturesque villages around Lake Chiemsee, Bavaria's biggest lake.

In Tyrol you will visit Innsbruck, the Tyrolean capital, mostly famous for hosting the Winter Olympic Games. If crystals interest you we can detour to Wattens, where you can visit the very impressive museum of Swarovsky. You will get enough time to dive into the Tyrolean traditions, taste the schnapps, try the delicious mountain cheeses, and - if you want - go to traditional dance event.

Finally, because a visit of Tyrol wouldn't be complete otherwise, you will have time for hiking in the beautiful setting of the Zillertal or if you're a good hiker the Großglockner, Austria's highest mountain.
